SEMS
Measurement System for Shielding Effectiveness in MRI and Shielded Environments

Panashield is pleased to announce that they have been appointed as the North American Distribution and Support Center for the new MPB shielding effectiveness test systems, SEMS.  The  system meets the growing need to test and verify shielding performance in MRI suites, EMI/EMC chambers, and telecommunications shelters.    By using advanced digital measuring techniques, both electric and magnetic fields can be evaluated in the frequency range of 10 kHz to 300 MHz. SEMS is portable and self-contained, allowing for quick and simple set-up at the enclosure site.

Features include:

  • Both electric and magnetic fields can be measured as recommended by FCC Technical Bulletin OET 65 below 300 MHz
  • There are no connecting cables as the receiver and transmitter communicate via wireless links including downloading of data to a PC
  • A powerful internal CPU manages independently all functions of calibration, zero setting, ambient cancellation, measurement and downloading
  • Measured results are for the full scan bandwidth and not a few fixed points
  • An optional Cal Kit provides for periodic linearization checks between the receiver and transmitter
  • Measurements are compliant with international standards, such as MIL-STD-285, IEEE STD- 299, EN50147-1 and NSA65-6

Customers for SEMS include facilities with RF shielded and anechoic chambers, health facilities with MRI suites, manufacturers and installers of MRI facilities, and secure Military and Civil Telecommunication shelters.
